About Me

I did not find weaving, it found me and took me on a magical journey!

My life has revolved around threads and textile from early age, being fascinated by my grandmother’s seamstress mastership. I tried to play around with fabrics and emulate her skills of bringing color and style to the grey life behind the Iron Curtain in 1980s Bulgaria.

During my adult years life took me in a very different direction: far away from my home country and focused on the world of technology. I moved to New York, and one of the few ways to keep the connection with my roots and the thread back my heritage, was to keep my hands occasionally busy with cross stitching of Bulgarian traditional designs. Life was a wavy string of ups and downs living in the busy pace of New York City.

It wasn’t until late 2017, when in a somewhat obscure alley of my life and looking for a creative and emotionally therapeutic outlet for the years spend in the big city, I came across Saori weaving. I did not know anything about it or weaving for that matter, but following the mysterious path of intuition, I picked up the for the first time the shuttle and ran the yarn through the loom. It was a magical moment that opened my eyes and my heart to a new world of expressiveness, creativity, colors, and most of all a peaceful mind. It stuck with me and two years later I had my first loom at home, and from there on the weaving never stopped.

I like to share my works; I like to give away pieces of my positive and creative emotions to other people and into their homes. This website is just another attempt of mine to share my art and desire to make life brighter and easier to sail. Happy sailing on the weaving waves…
